Weather
The district lies between 1,000 and 1,600 metres above sea level with a number of isolated peaks rising to over 2,000-3,000 metres above sea level. The most pronounced mountain peaks in the district include Mt. Kadam, Lolekek and Napak. The district receives between 500-1500 mm of rainfall per year.

Population
According to the preliminary results of the 2002 Population and Housing Census, Nakapiripirit district has a population of 156,500 persons. Ngakarimojong and Pokot are the main languages spoken in the district.

Education
Uganda's Sixth Parliament created Nakapiripirit district in 2001 after splitting Moroto district. Unlike others, Nakapiripirit had been a district before, during the 1973-1981 period. According to the preliminary results of the 2002 Population and Housing Census, Nakapiripirit district has a population of 156,500 persons. The district is bordered in the north by the Moroto district, Katakwi and Kumi to the West and Sironko and Kapchorwa to the south.
